Regional Training Institutes (RTI)
Within its leadership development and capacity building programme for the 2008 to 2011 period, the World YWCA is convening a series of Regional Training Institutes (RTI) under the common theme of “Women Creating Safe and Secure Communities”.
The main goal is to contribute to the movement’s strategic framework through the development of regional strategies on SRHR, HIV and VAW for programme delivery including advocacy.
The RTIs are scheduled as follows:
- Caribbean: May 24-29, 2009
- Africa: June 7 - 13, 2009
- Asia and the Pacific: August 2-7, 2009
- Europe: April 11-18, 2010 and October 20-22, 2010
- Middle East: May 27 - June 1, 2010
- Latin America: November 7-13, 2010
Latin America RTI
The Latin American YWCAs Regional Training Institute will be held in Mexico from November 7 to 13, 2010.
European RTI
The European YWCAs Regional Training Institute will be held in Estonia, from October 20 - 22, 2010. The Young Women's Leadership Dialogue which is held separate from the main meeting, was held in Budapest, Hungary, from April 11 - 18, 2010 .
Middle East RTI
The Middle East YWCAs Regional Training Institute was held in Cairo, Egypt from May 27 - June 1, 2010.
Asia and Pacific RTI
The Asia and Pacific YWCAs Regional Training Institute was held in Bali, Indonesia from August 2-7, 2009.
Africa RTI
The Africa Regional Training Institute was held in Lagos, Nigeria from June 7 - 13, 2009
Caribbean RTI
The Caribbean YWCAs Regional Training Institute was held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from May 24-29, 2009
