YWCA of Trinidad and Tobago sends team to Kenya

Local associations of the YWCA of Trinidad and Tobago joined YWCAs all over the world yesterday in its annual celebration of Palm Sunday Service and breakfast/brunch.

Women and men ride in solidarity to end violence

Some 400 women from all over the city of Belmopan cycled for solidarity and fitness on Saturday March 3, as part of the annual Bike Rally for Women’s Week.

The event which began on Western Avenue at 6:00A.M. cycled through many principal streets to finish with a breakfast at the Y.W.C.A. headquarters corner St. Thomas Street and Freetown Road.

YWCA Guyana receives grant

The European Commission and the Government of Guyana have commenced the disbursement of 4.5 million euros in grants to vulnerable groups in Guyana with the Guyana Micro Projects Office (GMPO) implementing.


Two groups - Santa Rosa Village Council and the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) of Guyana - yesterday signed their grant contracts at the Ministry of Finance. Grants have been approved for several others, all representing vulnerable groups and communities.

Barbados Vacation Camp for Children

Many women with young children enter the workforce each year. Safe, healthy child care during school vacations is a critical issue for these families. YWCA Barbados supports these women through a child care programme. Betty Tatham recently visited the Vacation Camp of YWCA Barbados which serves more than 60 children per day during the holidays.

Trinidad and Tobago YWCA looks for new blood

YWCATT is pursuing its vision to increase membership while retaining current members. To this end, it started a volunteer membership drive by participating with other NGO’s in a Volunteer Fair organised by Volunteer Connection in collaboration with Cradle Initiative, to help these organisations increase their membership and volunteer base.
