YWCA of Chile Participates in Pre World AIDS Day Festival
The YWCA of Chile participated in a festival on living a healthy lifestyle at the Technical University of Federico Santa Maria, Viña del Mar. The event was organised by the inter-University Commission for the prevention of HIV and AIDS in preparation for the commemoration of World AIDS Day on December 1.
Students from four Universities in Valparaíso attended the festival, which centred on HIV prevention education and awareness raising among students and members of the community
"This activity is extremely relevant and has been carried out since1989. It creates an opportunity for students to gain knowledge on HIV.” Said one of the University students present at the event.
The YWCA of Chile hosted an exhibition booth where it showcased its work on HIV and AIDS. Foremost of which is, the youth network for HIV and AIDS prevention. The event also served as an opportunity to foster partnerships between institutions that respond to HIV and AIDS and work on issues around sexual and reproductive health.
