Invest in women, ensure the safety and security of women and girls and end stigma and discrimination says World YWCA AIDS 2008 delegation
The World YWCA AIDS 2008 delegation gathered in Mexico City for a strategy meeting to explore in depth the key messages of the World YWCA at AIDS 2008 to invest in women, ensure the safety and security of women and girls and end stigma and discrimination.
Following an opening reflection, World YWCA President Susan Brennan welcomed the group and reviewed the key goals of World YWCA participation at AIDS 2008. Brennan emphasised the World YWCA’s commitment to the strong and meaningful participation and voice of young women and positive women at the conference. “Collectively we need to ensure their voices are heard even if this means some of us needing to keep quiet in order for them to speak. We have privilege representing and being ambassadors for the World YWCA, “ said Brennan.
