From July to December of 2016 Armenian National YWCA with the support of World YWCA P2C found implemented Mirror of The Future Panorama project. The aim of the project was to strengthen the YWCA movement in Armenia, providing young girls with leadership capacity to participate in improving the local democracy.
Many young girls and women from Tavush and Gegharkiniq marzes united around the ideology of YWCA movement and participated in public discussions, workshops, trainings on ”constitution of Armenia”, ”migration impact on women’s lives”, ”volunteerism”, ”communication skills” among others. Besides the planned topics, new problematic topics related to women’s rights surfaced during the workshops. Thanks to the project trainers, the girls up to 18 got the opportunity to showcase their first trainings and make presentations for the other participants of the workshops. In the framework of the project, the hall of the organization was renovated; an official webpage was created; a ” Young girls in local democracy” booklet was published and a ” Karno Kochari-for Peace” dancing flash-mob was implemented, with the participation of Noyemberyan high school and Saint Sargis Church Sunday school pupils. The project was concluded with a workshop held in Dilijan.
