For the first time ever, the UN Women Executive Director Madam Phumzile-Mlambo Ngcuka recently visited Papua New Guinea (PNG). During her stay, she participated in a panel with the Executive Director of the YWCA PNG Diane Kambanei and joined a flash mob. The panel focused on what young women can learn from the women leaders of UN Women and the YWCA.
Diane Kambanei “I spoke about Rise Up, Our Peer Education model and SRHR program. I also mentioned the amazing women within the YWCA who have mentored me” and “the Safe Spaces within our movement that allowed women like me to lead. I don’t know everything but I have giants in my movement that I can email if I don’t know and they will respond”.
