16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day). It was initiated in 1991 by the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute, held by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University.
This year, the World YWCA would like to invite you to join us by sharing and taking simple actions each day, to take a stand against gender-based violence and create awareness in your communities.
Take a look at the infographics and GIF campaign we have prepared for each day, and learn more about how you can create a brighter future and a world free from violence against women, young women and girls.
Don’t forget to use the hash tag #16Days!
