Nearly 70 World YWCA delegates from around the world are standing up for their rights this week at the annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York. CSW will take place from March 12 to 23 under the theme Empowering Rural Women and Girls.

On Wed, March 14, the World YWCA will launch the goal RiseUp! Guide for young women’s transformative leadership. Designed to share and strengthen the YWCA movement’s good practices in leadership training for transformative change, the guide helps young women claim their human rights to lead positive social, economic and environmental change.

World YWCA delegates will also participate in a variety of workshops, advocacy activities and roundtable events during CSW. This includes raising their voices in a special youth dialogue organized by UN Women on the major challenges facing young women and girls from rural communities in realizing their full human rights.
