The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Forum is an annual initiative of the President of the Council. It has evolved into a key platform where young people can contribute to policy discussions at the United Nations through their collective ideas, solutions and innovations.
This year the forum will take place on 1-2 April 2020 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. It will provide a platform for young people to meaningfully engage in a dialogue with UN Member States, UN entities, youth delegates, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders in civil society and the private sector on transformative pathways for realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development. For more information access to concept note here.
The ECOSOC Youth Forum will be guided by the theme of the 2020 High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on “Accelerated Action and Transformative Pathways: realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development” and build on the Youth Plenary’s theme of the United Nations 75th anniversary on “The Future We Want, the UN We Need: Reaffirming our Collective Commitment to Multilateralism”.
The participation in the Forum is by invitation only. We invite interested and self-funded young women from the movement to send a letter of interest to Caterina Lemp, Specialist Governance and Member Services at email@example.com latest 28th February, 2020. Please, note that the World YWCA has no resources to fund the participation of delegates.
