The World YWCA is committed to ensuring women, young women and girls are aware of, and are able to claim their rights, by holding governments accountable for key international commitments, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Beijing Platform for Action, CSW, CEDAW and the ICPD Programme for Action.
Over the next four years, the World YWCA will amplify its work on human rights by making women, young women and girls the driving forces in claiming and influencing women’s rights’ policies and leading change worldwide. Knowledge building, good practice and information sharing will be essential in realising this human rights- based approach. A key step in this direction will be building Member Associations’ capacity to engage creatively and effectively with human rights bodies locally, nationally and regionally to build stronger partnerships and recognition.
