World YWCA – World YMCA Week of Prayer and World Fellowship 2026

Since 1904, each year in the second week of November, the World YWCA and the World Alliance of YMCAs have collaborated to unite our global communities in prayer and reflection under a theme related to our movement’s core missions and in solidarity with the ongoing realities affecting human rights.

In 2026, the Week of Prayer will be held from Sunday, 8 to Saturday, 14 November, under the theme “Called For Such A Time As This” Leadership is influence, and everyone has it.

This year’s Week of Prayer will invite individuals and communities to explore how we can use our God-given influence to live with impact in our lives, families, communities and the wider world.

Drawing on the stories of seven biblical leaders, the reflections will remind us that each of us is called “for such a time as this.” With theological reflection and creative activities, the programme will inspire us to advocate for social justice, heal brokenness, pursue peace and reconciliation, and lead even when we feel inadequate or have experienced failure.

Day 1: Nehemiah: Called to restore brokenness

Day 2: Deborah: Called to lead courageously

Day 3: Moses: Called beyond inadequacy

Day 4: Esther: Called to advocate hope

Day 5: Abigail: Called to pursue peace

Day 6: Priscilla: Called to invest in others

Day 7: Collective worship service

Biblical leadership is intergenerational and collective and requires shared power and accountability across the generations. Together through intergenerational and collective leadership, the YWCA and YMCA movements are called to continue to drive change and inspire hope—something the world needs now more than ever.

Before and during the week, share your plans, testimonies, and individual or group reflections using the hashtag #WWOP26.
