Fanie Jipguep
Fanie brings extensive experience in administration, operations, coordination, and organizational support within international and multicultural environments. As Interim Office and Administrative Assistant at the World YWCA, she supports the effective day-to-day functioning of the World YWCA secretariat in Geneva, contributing to administrative and operational coordination and helping create an enabling environment for the team to advance the work of the global YWCA movement.
Prior to joining the World YWCA, Fanie gained significant experience within the United Nations and international organizations, particularly at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), where she supported international meetings, conferences, missions, events, and programmes. Her professional journey has also included experience with UNITAID and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), as well as within the private sector. Throughout these roles, she has developed strong expertise in administration, logistics, coordination, legal and institutional support, stakeholder engagement, and working across cultures.
Fanie holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences Law and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva. Her academic background in international relations, public international law, international economics, and intellectual property complements her practical experience within international organizations.
Guided by empathy, respect, integrity, and a strong sense of service, Fanie believes in creating environments where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute. She deeply shares the World YWCA’s commitment to gender equality and its belief in the transformational power of women, young women, and girls. She is particularly inspired by a global movement that brings together women across cultures, backgrounds, and communities and creates opportunities for them to rise into leadership and contribute to a more just, equitable, inclusive, and peaceful world.
For Fanie, being part of the World YWCA is an opportunity to bring her professional experience and personal values together in service of a mission she genuinely believes in.
